"I will come to you in the silence I will lift you from all your fear. You will hear my voice,  I claim you as my choice, be still and know that I am here. I am hope for all who are hopeless, I am eyes for all who long to see in the shadows of the night, I will be your light, come and rest in me. I am the word that leads all for freedom, I am the peace the world cannot give. I will call your name, embracing all your pain, stand up, now walk, and live. Do not be afraid, I am with you, I have called you each by name. Come and follow me, I will bring you home; I love you and you are mine." A difficult thing for me to grasp sometimes-- As I claim him to be mine; I am able to do so proudly because of who he is. its easy claiming him. When I am reminded that he too, claims me,  that's when I become confused.  In the song lyrics above, he clearly states:  by choice, you are mine. you are mine because I choose you. As h...

"My dear investigator, friend of the Church, if you are listening today, you are very close to reaching the greatest joy. You are close! Let me invite you, with all the energy of my heart, and from the depths of my soul: go and be baptized! It is the best thing you will ever do. It will change not only your life but also the lives of your children and grandchildren. The Lord has blessed me with a family. I married Renee, and we have four beautiful children. And because of my baptism, I can, like the prophet Lehi of old, invite them to partake of the fruit of the tree of life, which is the love of God (see  1 Nephi 8:15 ;  11:25 ). I can help them come unto Christ. So please consider my experiences, and (1) take the missionaries very seriously, (2) go to church and remember spiritual feelings, (3) read the Book of Mormon and ask the Lord if it is true, and (4) experience repentance and be baptized. I testify to you that if you pay the price...

i choose him.

Quick Thought that I think is worth sharing-- I knelt down last night in prayer, I decided that praying about my relationship with my Savior, I prayed that the relationship may be strengthened, and that I may grow closer to him. I expressed my love for my Savior Jesus Christ, and told him why I was longing to be closer to him. I expressed to him the feelings I have when I feel of his spirit. Then I got to thinking. Why do I choose Jesus Christ? This question raises a lot more questions. I've thought about this question many times in my life time. And when I thought about it last night, I figured that I had expressed the answer to my Savior in my expression of love to him. I thought that I had covered all of the bases that needed to be covered. Until I got up this morning and had a very overwhelming feeling of loneliness. Why is it so easy for us as humans to feel so alone, when we are surrounded by so many that love us? I was texting my mom and she helped me to ...

Do not be selfish with your trials.

Be Still My Soul - In You I Rest - Elenyi Music I've had some powerful experiences lately that have allowed me to ponder some things that I find important. The main topic being Trials. But not the typical, how we overcome trials.  I'll start by saying this. There is no trial that I have gone through, that hasn't made me stronger. There has been no trial that has not strengthened me. No trial that did not improve me in some way. I've been able to reflect on some of the most difficult trials that I have had in this life, and realize what a blessing each of them has been to me. I've been able to find ways that each trial has helped me to grow and reach a further potential.  But what if, instead of those being the reason behind trials, it was really just a blessing addition to the trial? I''ve come to the conclusion that trials are not to be selfish. Trials are not to teach us a lesson,  to build us up, to tear us down, or to even b...

To be your best self.

I had the opportunity to write an article for a friend. Which blessed me with the unique thoughts that I am about to share. But before doing so, I wanted to share something that one of my patients said today. He expressed to me that we are our own motivators. We choose what we want to be motivated in. And here is the article that I wrote.. I think that while in Heaven, we volunteered for many things, such as life, trails, joys and failures. I know that God has given us the tools and resources to succeed, to overcome, to  grow and progress in this life. But with these tools, one thing is expected of us,  not only to endure, but to endure well. “ Patient endurance permits us to cling to our faith in the Lord and our faith in His timing when we are being tossed about by the surf of circumstance. Even when a seeming undertow grasps us, somehow, in the tumbling, we are being carried forward, though battered and bruised. ” Neal A. Maxwell  Becoming your best self ...

Jesus Christ-- the Saviors Final Week.

Life is really hard. There are ups. There are downs. There are parts that won't make you feel a thing-- and there are some parts that make you feel the highest of highs, but also, the lowest of lows. I guess that's the hard part about life. Life isn't consistent, it isn't always a straight line. Life is truly a windy ride. As I sit here and think about the thing that gets me through feeling like this. Feeling sad for no apparent reason, feeling down and feeling a strong desire to cry.. I think about the thing that IS constant in my life. I think about the one thing that has made my life a weaving but very solid thick line. That one thing is my Savior Jesus Christ. "In Gethsemane Jesus became us, each one of us, and we became him. Our sins were transferred to Jesus. His perfection was transferred to us." I am reading a book called 'The Saviors Final Week' --- "he chose to become man so that we could become like God." This phrase alway...

The other day, while reading my scriptures and praying; I felt impressed to share a few points that are very dear to my heart. One, being my conversion story, the other being the struggles that I have CHOSEN to face through my conversion and where I am now. May 18, 2013. Five days before my high school graduation. Five days before I would walk across the stage with the friends whom I loved, with others whom had come and gone from my life, and the few friends who knew about the next decision I had made, and been working towards for months.  For months I kept hush about a choice I had made, what I had been doing, why I was changing, who I was becoming and I felt like a big liar. Looking back, I remember a boy whom I was good friends with, mention something about his mission that he was planning on serving, he then proceeded by asking if I was a Mormon, I remember my heart sink with fear, as I said “not exactly.” As I think about it now, I am unsure of why I was so embarrassed ...
