on all things Cheyenne. (life lately)

Image
Haven't written in a while; so heres a little update on all things Cheyenne. I am preparing to enter the Holy house of the Lord, I'm going into that gorgeous white temple in the next couple of weeks, YES! can you believe that? this last week my bishop asked me to pray and think hard about who i might want to be my escort (since i do not have the opportunity to enter with my mom) this was actually a really hard decision. Like i have so many amazing women around me.. and picking just one that has been the most amazing inspiration.. that was tough. But once i knelt down to pray about it.. it was ever so clear. KIM! I've known Kim Ashton for the last two years, i nanny for her ever so beautiful family. I've grown so close to this gorgeous family. Kim was like my spiritual mother, the lady that guided me and expressed her concerns and praised me in the gospel. So truly, it didn't surprise me when Heavenly Father told me that she was the one. I asked Kim if that...

I thank Him for the eternal family unit, for the privilege we have of being sealed ourselves in his holy temples, Chapter 17: Sealing Power and Temple Blessings http://www.lds.org/manual/teachings-of-presidents-of-the-church-joseph-fielding-smith/chapter-17-sealing-power-and-temple-blessings?lang=eng

No pics for this bloggie post. a neat expierence will do the trick. today I had the chance to sit next to my beautiful friend Kyra, in a Saint George stake center, gathering to watch the Ogden Temple dedication!  And as much as I was looking down, playing with the CTR ring on my finger, as much as the nerdy boys next to us leaned over to talk.. the special words and lessons I learned today were extraordinary. a true worry that consumes me on a daily basis, the fear of not being with my family (mom, dad, brother and sister) often becomes a big ache in my heart. BUT; through the dedication some expressions that flew through my body enlightened my soul. "you have to allow yourself and work to be sealed for time and all eternity," and "our loved ones have to work for the same blessings." and even though that wasn't an answer of how and why I want and need my family to have the ability of being my forever family, it sure did calm this heart of mine. Peace covered me,...

summertime adventure.

Image
lately the adventures haven't stopped growing, through new classes at school, and even more online classes, from hikes and walks with the puppy, from swimming and hot tubbing, even visiting friends who moved home from college for the summer, summer isn't like it was when i was young, definitely a lot different, in fact, it wasn't much of a summer or break at all; but sure have enjoyed the swimming, hiking and the long and eventful summer semester. and summer meant getting through a year without tyler, so clap for that.

today as i sat in the church, waiting for the meeting to begin; i began to look back upon the memories of my baptism day. the bad ones, the good ones, and the funny ones. for about two years now, my life has been full of attending farewells for friends; this weekend i really debated whether to goto a good friend of mines farewell, because it is my second week teaching in young women's, and i really didn't want to miss that opportunity. i decided that he had always been kind, and caring towards me, that he would do it for me, so i chose to attend. and you know the very moment you hear one word, and you simply know that heavenly father put you in that place for a reason? that everything being said was a strict message for you alone? well thats how today was. every single word that came out of Mckays mouth was so special to my heart, and Brother Baum who spoke after him. emotions filled my entire body, as every prayer i had said for the past year was being answered. every s...

the other night i had the blessing of taking my deep thoughts with me to the temple, i had the chance to sit on the temple grounds and think of everything that was bothering me.  in those moments, i felt grateful for the plan of salvation, for the missionaries that taught me, for the friendships that i now have with the Elders who taught me, for the missionaries who are out serving faithfully right now, so this day, i share with you a couple of words; that this gospel has brought light into my life,  i see and know my every blessing, and i am grateful for it all that i believe and i have faith in the words of our savior and prophets. http://youtu.be/_nuUdV6E_Fw

lately "hard days" have been my biggest burden. miss having those good friends who are all on missions now, i miss being held, and loved,  and i haven't been sleeping great,  so that could be the cause of my emotional state. the other night i took a trip all by myself to the temple late at night, sat in the dark across the street from the visitors center and prayed. as i got ready to leave, i decided to take a photo, the best part: the fact that the flash lit everything up,  and it looks as if i'm praying, with the temple and jesus in the background.  it's times like these that challenge my testimony, but i'm so grateful to be a daughter of God,  and i'm so thankful for a Savior who suffered for me,  i'm grateful for the power of prayer and scripture.  http://youtu.be/OWj2vKD4LGM
